What's better IB or A levels?

If I do A-levels after I've completed the IB will uni's consider my app. to medicine?

  • Ok this is a really long story but I'd appreciate any advise on the matter. Right, so i chose to do the ib when i first entered college. i thought it would be a great way of getting me into medicine, well like all ironic stories it didn't, i was really screwed over by my teachers who provided me with terrible advise at the last moment. Although i did pass all of my subjects and completed my level 3 education i was no where near enough points to get into medicine. So my plan was instead of re-taking my ib exams (which would completely nullify any chance of getting into medicine) I would switch onto an A-level course during my gap year and complete the entire course in one year. So here I am in my gap year, i have all of the A-levels I want to do lined up, but my problem is will universities still consider this as Re-taking exams? Because I am doing some of subjects that I've already done in the ib, but I'm doing them in a different qualification. And I'm afraid to bring this to the universities attention in case they change their mind's and claim that I am re-taking and i should no longer be considered for 2010 entry. Has anyone come across this problem before or know anything about what i should do?

  • Answer:

You need to talk to some medical schools, they will have different views.
