You've got time to turn things around. You know colleges don't look at just grades. They want an all-around good student with lots of interests and passions. If you can get all B's and A's in Jr and Sr years, join a few clubs, pick up a musical instrument and do well on your SAT's then you'll be fine.

College admission involves more than just grades. Colleges like to see extra-curricula activities, employment and community service as well. Your end of Junior year accumulated high school average is what they look at. You might have had a C in one term of freshman year and high enough B's or A's to average out to a B for the year. That yearly average is what counts on transcripts. Each year, you accumulate points for each subject area and a three year average or GPA (grade point average) is what the college sees from high school. It is always a good idea to be involved within school and/or home community making contributions of your time and effort. Playing a sport or sports is another thing that looks good for college. You should keep track of all you do in these areas in the form of one page resume so that you can send it along with your college applications. When applying, keep all your options open, apply to different schools, and include a "safety" school like a less expensive state school on your list. You have nothing to lose by putting in several applications - plenty of choices will come your way. Best of luck to you in college and beyond!!

as long as you keep grades like that up you should have no problem getting into a good college

I would try and rasie the C to a B. I would also try to change 1-2 of those b's to a. Then I would say yes.

The next few years are going to be really, really tough getting into college because there was a baby boom the year we were born, meaning more and more kids will be applying to college so there will be more competition. Those grades might have gotten you into a decent college before, but now you really need to improve them. They aren't bad, just make sure you do better this year!
