Can i get a accounting job?

If I major in music and minor in accounting, can I get a job as an accountant even though it's a minor?

• I will be majoring in piano, music. I am trying to decide my minor and in the process I have narowed it down to: Accounting, Broadcasting, Mathematics, or Spanish. But if I majored in Accounting could I go to an accounting place and get a job....that is if I can't make it teaching piano....or if I taught piano as a part time job at first. But I love music that I could never make music a minor. I need an answer....

  A common misconception about majors in college is that for the most part, a normal, unspecified job, and I believe that accounting is one such job, will not look specifically for people coming in with a major specific to their description. Most businesses want to see that you have a degree at all. With this accounting minor, it shows that you have experience with the math involved in the accounting process and so the fact that it is only a minor should not come in to play. Otherwise, history majors like myself would have a huge problem getting jobs that pay decent at all due to the fact that we have 3 real fields left: archeology, writing, and teaching history
