How do i get a good job without a degree?

Will i still get a good job without my degree?

  • I am currently studying maths at university but i am finding it hard. I don't know if i will make it to the end without failing or i might just quit before i fail. I don't want to let anyone down as they are all very proud of me but i want to come out with good qualifications so i can get a really good job. I already have 4 A-levels in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics but im worried if i quit and don't get my degree i won't be able to get a high paid job. What do you think on the matter?

  • Answer:

An education is an opportunity you shouldn't pass up. Even if you try your hardest and still fail its worth pursuing, not because people want it for you but because you should want it for your self. Finding the job will be a little harder, but you could start your own business and still be successful (no degree needed). Why not change your major, perhaps you missed your call. I have a friend that went pre-med and ended up becoming a very successful real estate lawyer. What ever your decision I wish you the best of luck?

if you've put money into college I wouldn't suggest throwing it away by quitting, especially if you've got good grades and are doing ok. if its hard, why are you getting such good grades? no offense, but it sounds like you have a laziness problem. education helps you get the good job, and without it, you wont reach your potential.

If you are having problems in the math major why not change your major? What are you good at? Change your major and get a degree if you want a good job.

I think you need a degree to get a good job in the competitive work environment today, unless you want to be a plumber or an electrician. If you don't think math is the answer, don't drop out, change your major. Maybe you should think about business, engineering or computer programming.

Why not change your major instead of dropping out cold turkey? I changed mine 3 times and now have a law degree. I started off as a math major and absolutely hated it. I then switched to history and then finally to business. It will take a bit longer, but at least you come out with your degree. And yes, you have to have your degree if you want a high paying job. There are people out there that get lucky and get good paying jobs without a degree, but they are far and few between. In today's world, EVERYONE needs a college degree.
