What is the best science field to go into in a college?

I am wanting to go into the field of science but dont want2have to go 2 college for more than 2 years?ideas?!?

  • of careers or courses?!?

  • Answer:

You could be an EMT, a pharmacy technician, or get a 2-year nursing degree. Most scientists have PhDs in their field, so research is out of the question with a 2-year degree - even working as a research assistant takes a minimum of a 4-year degree, most people doing it have masters degrees, and those jobs are hard to come by (it's cheaper to take on a grad student than to hire an assistant).

Yes -- I have an idea. Change your mind about going to school for more than two years. If you want to succeed in science, you will need at least a BS. There are no easy solutions. But the rewards of getting a better degree are worth it. Your alternative is to have a low paying job with no chance of advancement.

Even a BS in Chemistry won't land you much of a job anymore. With a 2 year (Associates) degree, you will be lucky ot get a good technician position. Science is going to require at least a B.S. degree, that's just the way it is, sorry.

honestly.... that's probably not going to happen. you can barely get anywhere with even a bachelors degree...

Yeah, you actually can do it. Big companies like AMD hire technicians with 2-year associate's degrees in science to work in their factory. These technicians are paid on a lower scale than those with 4-year degrees, but if they succeed they can move up quickly. And they do make OK money to begin with, about 40,000 per year.

Try Accelerated Degree Programs. Usually offered to working adults, and on nights. It really depends too if the school has a program like this with the field of concentration you are looking for.

vet tech some nursing and radiological tech some kinds of natural resources techs but most require B.S.

It honestly depends on what you mean by "science". If you want to be a physician's assistant or something along those lines, I believe you can do so with an Associate degree, but most of the time the word career implies long term commitments, such as education. Give college a try before you decide you only want to go for two years! Good luck!
