What is it like to work in the medical field?

What would be the best subject to get a bachelors degree in if I want to work in the medical field?

• I know that I want to work in the medical field, but dont know as what yet. Maybe a regular doctor, or a pediatrician, or as a physical therapist, or what. I will have the time that I am working on my bachelors to decide, but what would be the best thing to major in that would just help me in getting into the medical field. Right now, I am majoring in "Nutritional Sciences", but want to change to something different if it might help me. What do you think?

  I'm a premed student too and I have a couple of friends who are in med school. One graduated with a bachelors in philosophy and the other has a bachelors in biomedical sciences. Both had a 4.0 when they graduated from undergrad. The philosophy major is actually doing much better in med school. Moral of the story is that nothing really prepares you for med school. Med schools don't care what your major is. As long as you have all of the prerequisites like biology, gen chem, physics, and organic you are fine. Check the websites of the med schools that you're interested in to find out what they require. Most are about the same. (physical therapy schools are completely different in their requirements so check on that) I've also heard that Anatomy and Physiology and Histology are helpful too. Hope you find what you enjoy!
