How to go to college in the UK?

How does an American go to college in the UK?

• Obviously the prerequisites will vary from colleges/universities etc... but generally, are they the same as to get into an American college? Also, how much would a college there (on average) cost in USD? I realize this is incredibly vague, so if you could, tell me as much as you know. Is this even legal? :/

  You apply as an international student. And regarding the costs, it varies across programs. A technology-oriented program is going to cost much more than say an Arts program. Don't worry, you will find that UK universities have very friendly counselors that help you with the exact prerequisities for your country.UK universities generally have a very high standard of education. Word of advice, though. Over there, they don't use the words 'university' and 'college' interchangeably as we do here in the US. University is university, like the University of Cambridge, and college is college, like the East London College. It might be cheaper to study at a college instead of a university, but the universities are the only ones that are legally authorised to grant degrees, while colleges are not empowered to do so. They usually affiliate with one of the lesser-ranked universities for the grant of the degree. The top rated universities don't usually affiliate such colleges. Of course, studying further in the UK is legal !
