What's the computer science term for increase in timeouts?

What colleges do you think I could get accepted to?

  • Hey guys! Thanks for taking your time to answer this mundane question! :) So, at the moment, I'm a junior at a Preparatory School. I'm also Indian (I know ethnicity helps in college acceptance lol). We have two terms per school year. Saying this, my "term" GPA for 9th grade was a 90.2 and a 94.2. My term GPA for 10th grade was 91.6 and 93.8. My term GPA for 11th grade for the 1st semester was a 98.0. I'm in the second semester of my 11th grade. --------------------------------------… The classes I've taken: 9th Grade - Honors English 09, Honors Geometry, Honors Biology I, Honors World History I, Spanish I, Band, Consumer Economics, and Speech. 10th Grade - Honors English 10, Honors Algebra II, Honors Physics, AP European History, Spanish II Accelerated, Band, and Boys Athletic Training. 11th Grade - AP English, Honors Pre-calculus, Honors Chemistry, AP Biology, AP US History, Honors Spanish III, and Boys Athletic Training. --------------------------------------… My extracurricular activities: 9th Grade - Science Olympiad, Tech Fair, Chess Team, Marching Band, Concert Band 10th Grade - Science Olympiad, Tech Fair, Marching Band, Concert Band, Physics Team, (Private Tutoring a little) 11th Grade - Science Olympiad, Computer Club, Tech Fair, Private Tutoring (Peer to Peer Tutoring) For my 12th grade, I will definitely be looking to take ALOT more extracurricular activities. Haha my activities in 9,10, and 11 grade are quite...barren. Hahaha --------------------------------------… As for the courses I'll be taking in 12th grade: AP Calculus AP Psychology AP English 12 AP Physics B AP Anatomy AP Chemistry Boys Athletic Training 12th Grade Extracurricular Activities - Physics Team, Science Olympiad, Computer Club, Tech Fair, Track, (I'll try to bring back the Chess Team, thus I would be a founding member of the Chess Team), and Private Tutoring. --------------------------------------… For the ACT and SAT tests: I took the ACT in the beginning of my 10th Grade Year and made a 31. Not too shabby. Haha. I haven't taken it again this year, but I will be taking a rigorous class that has an average increase for its ACT students of 4-6 points! So I'm hoping quite dearly for a 34 and wishing for a 35! Hahaha. I have not taken the SAT test. I will be this year. I'm most likely going to end up with a 1970 or so. I am not so great at the SAT...Haha. But I'm going to be working around the clock to increase my scores via classes and such. I'm aiming for a 2100. For SAT II Tests, I have not taken any yet. But I'll be taking SAT Math Level 2, SAT Biology Cellular Biology, and a third one which I haven't picked out yet! --------------------------------------… Thank you guys if you've read this far!! Haha Please tell me your insights! Also, the colleges I'm looking into are Columbia, University of Chicago, Rockefeller University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Vanderbilt University, Emory University, Tulane University, and a few more. Thank you for your time! :)

  • Answer:

The answerer who told you to submit applications to the colleges that interested you gave you good advice. When you say Indian you need to clearly state whether you mean you are from the country called India, or you are an American Native. Colleges cannot and will not make that a part of accepting you. That is called Affirmative Action and is no longer what is done. Records are still kept, but those records are not identified by individual Your qualifications are good enough to get into many doors. Who wants to think they were chosen because they belonged to a group. Colleges do want a diverse student body because most now believe it adds to the educational experience for everyone. Aid to students to attend colleges is less than in the past, so if you have some ability to pay, there are likely to be fewer people applying. That means there are more marginal openings than in the past. The colleges you mention have endowments and can fund some of their students. State colleges will have lower budgets than in the past and will be more expensive and accept fewer students.
