What are chances of getting into Harvard?

What are my chances of getting into Harvard or University of Chicago?

  • I'm in grade 10 and was hoping to go to harvard. I had a 92% in all of my classes and am involved in extracurriculars. I am on reach for the top I play badminton and soccer at school and I am triple black diamond skier outside of school (no ski team at our school). I also love to golf but only shoot high 80s. I am trying out becoming a dj this year would that help my chances? i would like to know your opinion on my chances of making it into these schools.

    You're focusing too much on your extracurriculars. You need the highest possible grades and test scores and then you can worry about your outside activities. A 92% isn't that strong when you'll be competing with hundreds of students with GPAs of 97% or higher. Your chances of acceptance are fair.

Becoming a DJ won't help. Do as many extracurriculars as you can, in school. Also, volunteer a lot. You are going to need to get your SAT and ACT scores as close to perfect as possible. Take as many honors and AP classes as you can to get your GPA sky high.

Like all dreams, one has to work hard. Your DJ job will have no impact. Your marks have to come up higher. The best of the best get chosen, so you have to try and stand out. This will only be accomplished through hard work and determination. Extracurricular activities is great for your overall accomplishments, but do not go overboard with too many as this will take time from your studies. Work hard, and do not lose sight of what you are aiming for.

Actually a 92% is not going to get you into Harvard. They deny students with perfect 4.0 Harvard gets about 20,000 applications and enrolls about 2000 students. They have their choice of the best of the best. No being a DJ is not going to do anything at all for your chances. You need to get your grades up. Take your ACT/SAT early and plan on taking it twice.

If your GPA is like 3.79 to 4.33 then you have good chance.
