Is there a difference between Columbia college and Columbia university?

College Board Says that 35% of Columbia University Applicants Get in?

  • Is that true?? Ive been doing one of those college searches, where I input all the things Im looking for, and Columbia university came up as one of the results that matches my needs, and I clicked on the profile for Columbia university (on Collegeboard.com ) and it said that 35% of applicant get in... Is that true? I was expected a really low number, like 8% or so. Is Columbia a good school?

  • Answer:

When you get to college you will learn that everything you read is not true. What you read is an error, or it applies to a particular graduate school program at Columbia, or it applies to Barnard College which is an excellent women's college that is adjacent to and closely affiliated with Columbia. Columbia admits around nine per cent of undergraduate applicants and is an excellent university.

It's a very good school! Just because they have a 35% acceptance, doesn't mean it isn't hard to get into.
