What GPA do you need to get into University of Texas in Austin?

What GPA do I need to get into Texas A&M's graduate school?

  • What about The University of Texas? I am a freshman and I will have three years of undergraduate research under my belt in my intended field which has to do with plants. At UT I would do my masters or Ph.D. in Plant Biology, while at A&M I would do my masters or Ph.D. in Plant Breeding. I would like to do a degree at both of these schools that is why I have listed the both options for masters and Ph.D. If anyone could give me an idea of what kind of GPA I would need for a graduate degree dealing with plants, especially at A&M, it would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I am a Texas resident and am currently attending Texas Tech University.

  • Answer:

I am currently a Genetics major at A&M sometimes the needed GPA is a 3.75. However if you were going to school at a&m you could freshman grade exclude or q drop a class that was going to hurt your GPA. A&M also goes by GPR and I am pretty sure they average in all of your semester averages rather than all of your courses at once. I also do know that sometimes even if you don't quite meet the GPA requirements A&M will then consider extra credentials when admitted. So having a strong lab background will also help. Hope this helps: Soil & Crop Sciences is what your degree will be under at a&m here are the numbers, emails and names with what building the people who run this program are in contact them and talk to them about what you need to do. the college that your graduate or masters will be under is the agricultural and life sciences college which is the same one that I am under. However graduate genetics degree and what you are persuing may be different I will also include some links for you to look up.
