  A college essay is the opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the admittance board of the university that you are applying to. So, I would do just that. I would write about your love of school and how excited you are about attending their school. I would talk of the activities you participated in during H.S. The relationships you developed with teachers and what you hope to bring to their school. If you volunteer I would note that in the essay. I would stress what you wish to become and how that will help you and your community. What opportunities will you have once you get a degree from the college and how will that help other people? For instance getting into nursing, how you hope to become an oncology nurse because you had a relative that had cancer and you see how people suffering from cancer is afraid and you want to help them beat cancer and ease their fears. (just an example). Mine was entrepreneurship and how I wanted to give back to the community. So it is what you hope to accomplish with your degree. What kind of person will that make you? Also see what having you as a student will enrich the university? I applied as an "Older" student to the School of Business so what I brought to the university is my age and ethnic group. So, it gave the college something that they were lacking. You need to use all the angles to get yourself admitted. The more they see of you the better the chances of getting into the school by writing a great essay. Once you have it written down, take it to your counselor at H.S. to have them look at it.
