What's the difference between Undergraduate and Graduate?
-
I've been looking at sites online, and they all have two sections of info: Graduate and Undergraduate? What's the difference?
-
Answer:
Undergraduate refers to someone who is going for their Bachelor's Degree or one who doesn't have an equivalence to a Bachelor's Degree. (Ex. non-degree holder or an Associates Degree would be considered undergraduates) Graduate refers to someone who is going for a degree that is beyond a Bachelor's Degree. (Ex. Master's Degree or PhD.) Hope that clears it up.

Undergraduate means you are working towards a Bachelors Degree. This is the one you apply to right out of high school. Graduate means you have already finished your Bachelors and want a master's or PhD.

Undergraduates are working towards their bachelor's degree. Graduate students have a bachelor's degree, and are working towards another degree: master's, doctorate, or some professional degree such as a law degree.
