What is nursing school?

Will it matter what nursing school you graduate from?

• So I'm thinking about switching my major to nursing. Since I need money ASAP to actually start working Im looking into the ADN program at a college. But the university offers a bachelor degree. After many talks with the fellow nursing students at the local college I have been told that the nursing program at the local college is better than the university program due to many great reasons. But the question is will it matter what school I graduate from once I finish my nursing school? Will you get paid more at a university or a more well known university??

  Like what the other answer said, you might just get more opportunities because you graduated from a more well known university. I too think the level of degree (BSN vs ADN) matters more. I read somewhere that an RN with a BSN background has better opportunities to move up or move into a more specalized area for the future. BSN might get paid more, maybe because of the extra studying, but location and where you work also affects pay. Other related certifications might give a boost too. I have been seeing that more places would actually prefer a BSN. Many openings i've came across have listed BSN under prefered qualifications. I also saw a difference in the pass rate for the RN exam and my hypothesis is that schools teach and/or structure programs differently, which affects your chances of passing.
