Is sushi actually good? What's the best way to tell the quality places from the garbage places?

• Ya know, I consider myself to have a pretty exotic taste for foods. I love seafoods and complex recipies. I had sushi one time. It was brought in to work from lunch on this big plastic tray. All I know is they had California roles and sushi. Honestly I didn't like it. Was this just cheap sushi perhaps? I have heard people say sushi is really good but it has to be fresh. I wanna try it again but I am worried it will be crap like last time.

  I love sushi! Just like a good steak, you get what you pay for. The quality of the fish is VERY important when you are eating raw fish. A nice japanese restaurant is your best bet for good sushi. Or if you just want to try it without the dining experience first, they sell it in the deli at Whole Foods or other high end grocery stores. (The sushi you'll get at a restaurant is WAY better though!)
