What do I do during first day of Walmart's orientation?

First day at McDonalds after orientation?

  • And how long does it take to get used to the keys on the register? I'm starting in a few days. It's been a few weeks since my orientation, so I don't remember some of the details that they told me (for example abbrevitions on the register, or what chemical was used for what). Will the crew trainer give me another walkthrough of the things I need to do? And how is it like? And ultimately does a good or bad experience depend on the people you work with and how much you're paid?

  • Answer:

Your trainers will help you, and make sure that you know what you're doing. If you're not sure about what you're doing just ask, because it's better to ask, then to screw something up. The Mcdonalds I work at is really busy, and hectic. I'd say having a good experience is basically dependent on what job your doing, whether the people you are working with are assholes or not, how much you're paid, and how well you know you're job. Just pay attention, work hard, and be friendly and you'll do great.

You will be in "training" for a bit when you first start. they will teach you everything you need to know. Don't be afraid to ask questions if your unsure. Any boss worth there weight would rather you ask those questions, than screw up. As far as McDonalds. I worked there when I was younger, and it sucked bad. But that could have just been the store I worked at. I've heard alot of stories, but that is with every job. A job is a job. That's how you have to look at it.

Well, I don't have an official job yet (I kinda run a business) but I bet it's like learning to type on a keyboard. Or learning the alphabet, I'm betting it's going to take you a couple more days or weeks. It all depends on your focus. And the experience doesn't depend on the people.... usually. Don't let them get to you, I would know (under some circumstances) that jobs are just like schools. And if the people there REALLY bug you.... well, again like school, you gotta learn to deal with them :(. Hope this helped a little. :)

This question is the exact reason I will be shocked if the world lasts another 50 years. What is our country coming to when our upcoming workforce is not even qualified to work at McDonalds. Scary! My advise to you is to do what every one else dose and appy for welfare, or find a rich guy to take care of you. If all else fails blame everyone else around you for your misfortune and take no responsibility for your own actions what so ever. Why.....because its the American way
