What should I have for lunch at home?

What is a good home-packed lunch to bring to school?

  • So my friends and I all bought lunch one day. But, the healthy choices arent so great. The only healthy thing is a ceaser salad, and theirs, doesn't taste so good! So My friends and I wanted to know if any of you have any good lunch ideas that are healthy? We're looking for ones under 600 calories. So if you know any healthy ideas or websites please answer! Thank you!

  • Answer:

School lunches are unhealthy and full of carbs and calories! How about a sandwich with sliced chicken or turkey - check the ingredients - the less fillers, the better for you, (no cheese) on whole grain organic bread (You can also use Arnold Select Sandwich Thins - 100 calories per bun, or Flatout Flatbread Light Italian Herb flavor - 90 calories. Both taste great!). I also use mustard in lew of mayo as it has no calories, and like to add tomatoes and lettuce. On the side - Baby carrots, and a piece of fruit. Have a different veggie every other day - like broccoli, cauliflower, or cucumbers - with salt and pepper. Or make a good healthy salad at home and instead of dressing, salt and pepper the salad for flavor, and add grilled chicken - 4oz max, though! And drink lots of water - it's filling and good for you. As a last note, try to find organic foods. They are much more healthier for you than fruits and veggies grown with chemicals and pesticides! You can check your local organic food store for them, but some of the regular grocers are now carrying more organic foods.
