What would you eat for dinner?

What time is a normal time to eat dinner?

• I'm going to eat dinner with a few friends tonight at their house. Everyone else thats going gets off work early on Fridays (between 3 and 4). But I work at an accounting firm and we usually don't leave until between 5 and 6. This causes me to usually eat later than my other friends (say around 7 or 8 or even 9). And I don't mind eating late. Keep in mind, we're all in our mid to late 20s and have no kids or anything. What is a "normal" time for us to eat dinner? I want to get a few more opinions before I ask them to possibly push back the dinner time.

  For me dinner is as 1800, but when I was working I had a 1800-1900 dinner hour. All you can do I am afraid is to ask that perhaps once in awhile they have a later meal so you can eat with them. I was recently in hospital and dinner was put out at 1700 and that was the time most of the other patients wanted their dinners. For those of us who wanted to dine at 1800 we had to have the prepared meals nuked so they would be hot.
