What's the best restaurant to work for in New York?

Whats a good restaurant to work at ?

  • I'm going to be 18 in the summer and wanted to apply at applebees and alot of other restaurants. i want to be a server , whats a restaurant that's more upper scale so the people tip better ? i have experience I've worked at marshalls , shop rite and was a server/cook at pizza hut .

    Most restaurants wont let you serve at first. You will have to be a host for while, at least until you get a general idea of how a restaurant works. I started my first restaurant job at Longhorn Steakhouse and i had to be a host for about 6 months. (I worked as a cook/server at a pizza place too but it didnt matter, an actual restaurant is a lot different.) Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, and Seasons 52 are all owned by a company called Darden. Its a really good company to work for. Great benefits and a lot more. Someone else said not to try somewhere like IHOP, Dennys, and Sherris, i agree with them. They dont care as much about their employees and you will make a lot more money working somewhere a little nicer. Good luck with getting a job.

Olive Garden is NOT the way to go, when they are done with you, you'll wish you'd taken that job picking up dead animals off the side of the road.

Honestly, One of the best place for young adults to work is Starbucks, They offer great benefits, work with your school schedule, and pay fairly well. My friends daughter is in college and works there and they are a great employer.

I would say somewhere like Olive Garden, Carrabas, Longhorn Steak House, Chilis. Somewhere where its not too expensive I think is better but you wouldn't want to work at a place like Ihop where you wouldn't get tipped anything.

Olive garden has alot of older ppl that go there...thats a good place to work..any steak house...any place where there is alot of sports activity such as tv events where ppl get together for a good time..drinkers tip good in places like that!
