  • Answer:

As far as Mexican food goes... These are the things you can eat that will probably be healthier: - refried beans (high in protein) - ground meat (as long as it isn't too greasy) - salsa (usually only tomatoes and peppers and spices, eat as much as you want of it) - toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, only a little bit of shredded cheese - chicken quesadillas (without cheese, and make sure the chicken isn't greasy) - taco salads without cheese (I would only get ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes and a side of refried beans) Things to avoid: - plenty of tortilla chips (those are fried and tend to be addictive and filling) - taco shells - chalupas and burritos (the flour tortillas are high in fat) - melted cheese on everything (it seems like they put cheese on everything on the table) - sour cream and guacamole (guacamole is high in fat but has no cholesterol, so I would just have a little if you like it) Hope this helps!

Telling them to leave out the meat or the cheese will cut back on a lot of calories.

Any grilled chicken dish would be good. Rice is lower in calories than the bean. You could ask if they have any vegetarian dishes - those are usually lower in fat. Or just order what you like, exercise extra that day and eat a little less the day before and the day after. You can splurge a little on a diet, every now and then.

Blue Haired Old Lady

most mexican restaurants have grilled chicken or grilled shrimp salads that are wonderful!! try eating something like that and using salsa as a dressing instead of a high calorie dressing. other options might be any grilled dish...most of them have foods that are great for dieting.

Salad its nice, and healthy :) with a bit of chilli sauce

DearryMe,

When my brother wants to eat healthy at a mexican restaurant. He orders grilled chicken. They usually have grilled chicken tacos. I would order alacart. So, you don't get the beans and rice. What ever you get get the chicken. The lettuce, tomato, onions are all good for you on tacos. Ask for no sour cream. Salads are also a good bet. Salsa is healthy, but be careful how many chips you eat.

I would suggest a chalupa. It's a flat hard corn tortilla with beans, lettuce, tomato, and guacamole on top. It's very yummy and should be low in calories. You can also try a bean burrito. It will have high calories but also lots of protein.

Anything wrapped in a any kind of tortilla is off limits. You can eat big if you stick with mostly vegies and beans, meat, rice.

Baw

you don't want enchiladas, or soft shelled tortillas, try a corn tortilla taco or a salad or even a chicken and rice dish with pico de gallo.

Mandy

Choose soft tacos, baked quesadillas, and salsa as a sauce or dip avoid anything crispy or fried chicken fajitas instead of beef
