York Beach on Old Route 1 is a scenic place. As well as a small tourist village called Quiquit (I'm sure I misspelled it. It sounds like A Gone Quit). That's really touristy with a park overlooking the Atlantic ocean and plenty of good restaurants and boats for fishing. Also a beach for those who go there in the summer. I was there two years ago. Maine is one of the favorite states to visit.

If you want beach... Old Orchard Beach is great. If you want quaint New England then definately go to Cornish and stay at the Cornish Inn. If you want Lobster fun then you need to be in Portland for the Lobster Fest in July.
