How do I become a good waitress?

You will learn as you go. You need to work well under pressure, especially pressure from the chefs. You need good people skills (need to be a naturally social person) You need to have a good memory (remembering orders etc) thats about it. Being honest i was only a waiter for about 6 months, and going into work my first day didn't have a clue what i was doing, but if you ask another waitress or waiter to show you how they do things then you will be fine and in a weeks time you will have the hang of it. Don't worry too much, its just a job.

you can expect to take down orders, bring out plates of food/drinks, clear tables, stack the dishwasher, help people with menu choices, be on your feet a lot! In some places you will work the till also and maybe help out with some of the food/drink preparations. On a trial just remember to KEEP BUSY and always smile. Be polite and friendly and stay out of your customers way (which sounds terrible but you dont want customers complaining about the clmusy waitress they had to the manager). Be careful with people with allergies, if someone asks if something is in the food and your not sure dont be afraid to ask! Clear tables once people have finished and as long as your manager sees that your willing to learn, try hard and have a positive attitude you should do fine! Good luck :)
