What is the legal age to serve alcohol in BC?

Serving alcohol underaged at a restaurant in BC?

  • What are the laws of serving alcohol underaged in BC? I currently serve liquor, pour wines, open beers, etc under my managers supervision, and would love to put that on my resume, however I dont know if that will get his business in trouble? I'm 18 years old, and the legal drinking/serving age is 19, is what I'm doing illegal? and is there any way to include it in another interview for a different serving position?

  • Answer:

i agree. don't get anyone, including maybe yourself, in trouble. just cherish the experience and soon you will be legal and you have valuable experience that can give you an edge over someone else your age.

In British Columbia it is against the law to serve alcohol to people if you are under 19. (This is because the age of majority in BC is 19, not 18). Your employer could get into a lot of trouble.

In the resume you can choose not to include your experience. Can you do that?
