What is the best way to get from Tysons Corner Mall to Pentagon City Mall without a car?

  • I'm trying to get from Tysons to Pentagon without using a cab. Which Metro station is closest to Tysons (walking distance)? If not walking distance, what bus do I have to take to get to that Metro station?

    use www.wmata and use their trip planner ... but I'd think the bus would be easiest ... that being: 23A Bus Departs from INTERNATIONAL DR & CHAIN BRIDGE RD towards CRYSTAL CITY Arrive S GLEBE RD & COLUMBIA PI Then 16W Bus Departs there towards PENTAGON CITY STATION about an hour trip time. If you try using the Rail, then you use 1 bus and 2 rail segments and it's a little longer.

Tysons Corner is not in walking distance of a Metro station. There are many buses that will take you to Metro stations, but they all will take quite a bit of time, as traffic in the area is a nightmare! The 23A and B will take you to Crystal City, on the Yellow and Blue lines, but that is a loong ride. However, you will only need to ride the Metro one stop to Pentagon City. Most buses from Tysons Corner take you to a stop on the Orange Line, and you would have to take the Metro toward New Carrollton, switch to the Blue Line at Rosslyn, and take that to Pentagon City.
