Ok for lunch I highly suggest Central Station. This is where the amtrak station comes into the DC area. In this building is a huge mall and the food court is downstairs and has an excellent selection of resturants to choose from that are moderatly priced. For dinner if you love seafood I high suggest Philips Seafood either the buffet or dinners. This is located in L'Enfant Promenade. The parking is free and the crab legs just keep coming. It is excellent and if it is a nice evening you can dine on the dock overlooking the water. Good Luck....

I'm with "Gepetto" above, go to the Old Ebbitt Grill. It's right by the White House. Any of those restaurants there will be really good. I'm going there myself for brunch on Sunday.

You should go to Hotel Washington. It's on the rooftop of the hotel. You can either eat indoor or outdoor but the view is amazing and the food is really good. It's right where you two will be visiting. I think you'd really like it. the website has a few pictures of the restaurant but it's much better in person.

BENS CHILLI BOWL!!!! Best stuff in the world. It is a staple in DC. Just ask anyone on the metra about Bens and they will give you a complete rundown. Also check out Food Network. They reviewed it too.

I personally love Rosa Mexicana. It's right across from the Verizon Center, and my family and I go there all the time.

Stay within the Adams-Morgan section of DC. It's in the NorthWest. I usually go to the Zoo and then park near Woodley Station and walk. Go down Connecticut Ave. and around (I forget the street) the Omni Shoreham, turn left. That is the start of this section. Good restaurants - Ethiopian, Thai, Cajun....
