After 10 permutations of this same question in the last two weeks you've been given lots of great recommendations. Only you can make the decision. Or do a search of resolved questions using view as criteria for the search. Then make your reservation at the Grand Hyatt.

Check out the Cliff House, look up the menus at restaurants. I picked up the 2009 Zagat Food and Beverage at the library and when walking around SF found some interesting spots for interesting things. The Marriott 39th floor for happy hour food, McCormick & Kuleto's for happy hour food, etc. with great views. Some didn't list their happy hour in the book just stumbled across these places on my own and knew I wanted to take an elevator ride regardless if I wanted to stay or not. Like the others said you probably have your mind made up and could be a special occasion. You decide. But I would hit happy hour somewhere then dinner somewhere else. Bon Appetit!!!

THANK YOU ajtheactress! Sir yes indeed you have posted the SAME questions a million times. Go check yelp.com, they have people giving their own experience. There really isn't some magical place with the perfect view AND great food in SF. You seem to have your mind set on the Grand Hyatt, so go there already!
Beach Chalet overlooks part of Ocean Beach. The restaurant is on the second level of the building, so your views aren't blocked by the parking lot, etc. Food is pretty good too and there's a decent selection of beers on tap. Believe it or not, another place with good views is Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. on Pier 39. Yes, obviously very touristy, but the food is actually good AND many tables have a view of the Bay and/or the Bay Bridge.

Cliff House at the beach. Go for the sunset. Fairmont Hotel Hyatt Embarcadero Mark Hopkins

You certainly must know that hotel food is never the best food in town. Hotels focus on accommodations; restaurants focus on food. Try the Cliff House or the Carnelian Room. Make a decision and get a reservation. Forget the Grand Hyatt
