best sandwich i have had EVER was from Bread and Butter Market in the Tenderloin distrcit..it's a small market with a awesome deli. It's on Ofarrell Street (between Larkin St & Polk St).

In North Beach, about a block or two up from Broadway on Columbus, there is a great cheesesteak place. I'm not sure of the name, but I've been there a many of drunken nights! It's an interesting crowd. I order the California!
