Where is the best place to view fireworks in San Francisco and is the Slanted Door a good place to eat?

Best place to see fireworks: In the Sky. Slanted Door: Overpriced, but very good. You also get to name drop in the office the following day. SF is an AMAZING food town, so don't just go by what the papers say. Go out to some local bars and chat up the barkeep or people hanging out there and you will find more gems than you'd think.

I'm not sure about where to view fireworks, but I know about the Slanted Door; the food there is great but very pricey. Servings are rather small and it's best if you order several different dishes and share with the others in your party.

The Slanted Door is a terrific place to eat! One of the top ten in San Francisco. Be sure to make reservations well in advance. As for fireworks-- it depends, which fireworks? San Francisco is a big enough city that there are fairly frequent fireworks shows at several locations along the waterfront. Giants sometimes have fireworks after the game, and other events use any of several different locations around the waterfront (San Francisco has water on three sides - big waterfront!). If you don't know exactly where the fireworks show is actually being held, you can end up on the wrong side of the city with big hills in the way of your view. If you mean the Fourth of July fireworks from Aquatic Park, you need to be either in the Park or on top of Russian Hill somewhere.
