Where can you find the best cheese steak in Philadelphia?

I've just recently visited Philadelphia, and visited quite a few places that sold cheese steaks. The best I would have to say was John's Roast Pork. I would put Geno's at 2nd, and Pat's at 3rd.

Chinks! Even though they moved their location not too long ago Chubby's or Dalessandro's on Henry Ave Gaetano's - delicious and i can't even eat the whole thing! Pagano's If in the burbs- Steak and Hoagie Factory is the closest you can get Happy Eating!

Go to Jim's on South Street if you are in the city. Chinks up in Northeast Philly is excellent. In Delaware County, try Walt's in Clifton Heights. To get directions, all of them can be found on the web with a quick search. And since I just had one from Pat's on Monday (some out of town visitors wanted to go), I will have to say that it was pretty darn good, a lot better than I remembered. I don't believe anyone who says that there is some joint off in East Jabip that has the best cheese steaks, but if Homegirl wants to meet me to prove that her place in Reading is really good, I might make the trip. Edit - I didn't say they all had web sites - but their addresses and directions are easy to find on the web anyway.

There is a town called Reading in PA and there is a shop called Tack's. Best cheese steak you will have in your life.

No, to Pats or Genos: tourist traps. Go to Rt 202 at the DE/PA border for the Concord Pike Steak shop. They are the juiciest. Off I-95 in Delaware (Naamans Rd) Claymont Steak shop. Way better than anything in Philly.

Spataro's in the Reading Market. It's great. Unfortunately you have to order at a counter then go find seating... so there isn't an ambiance but the market is so much fun to shop, walk, eat... Try it!
