What do you do being a chef?

What does it take to be a disney chef?

  • I am interested in different cultures which first lead me to anthropology then decided that i wanted to have a more creative occupation. Ever since i was little i loved to cook and BAKE! Recently i have been on a disney "rush" and thought of the idea of being a chef doing something i love in the most magical place on earth. Now i have schools, like le cordon bleu, but what does it really take to be a disney chef? I have been searching online and it seems to me that the chefs currently employed at Disney World are very well trained and seem to be skilled in many different aspects of the culinary world, so again i ask what will it take for me to be an equivalent to one of these master chefs what steps will i have to take in order to be a chef at Walt Disney World? (Keep in mind i am still quite young and have plenty of time to decide what i would like to be in life, and yes children tend to sway their career choice from one interest to the next but i can assure you that what i am planning is set in stone i have explored other options and remain unable to "shake" this one idea, so any advice would be very helpful. Thank you very much for your time and hopefully your understanding.)

Disney chefs, especially the ones that work in the fancy respots are very highly skilled and well trained. They probably went to a cooking school like a le cordon bleu or culinary institute of america. Once they finished school they probably had a few jobs, worked their way up the ladder and applied to Disney.
