What is a wholesale food service?

What kind of food is included in the quick service Disney dining plan?

  • What restaurants are included in the quick service Disney dining plan? Is it good food or cheap junk food? What types of food can you get? Is it good or bad in your opinion? Should I stay with that or upgrade to the Plus dining plan? Thanks

  • Answer:

Quick service dining at Walt Disney World is anything that would be considered to most as "fast food". Most walk-up locations in the parks and resorts serve things like hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza. There are some healthy options, such as salads and sandwiches. Epcot is one of my favorite places to eat, as there is a wide range of options from the different countries. The food is not bad, however after eatting it for days and days it can get old. In my opinion, Disney has unbelievable sit down restaurants, so I would upgrade from the Quick Service plan. Keep in mind that some of the fancier restaurants do use two days worth of sit-down points for one meal (such as California Grill and Cinderella's Royal Table). It is really just a matter of preference, would you give up a few hours of park time to have a nice dinner?

Here is a list of all the places that are included on Disney's Quick Service Dining Plan: -http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2010QuickService.pdf It's good for you if you don't typically make advanced reservations, or have a lot of sit down meals with menu's/appetizers/drinks/desserts, etc. If you make reservations far in advance for nicer restaurants, they will not be on this dining plan. You will need the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan if you want to include any nicer restaurants, character dining experiences or signature dining experiences. I prefer to do 3-4 sit down restaurants on my trip, and do quick service for the rest. So for me, no dining plan is the best thing for me. If you are like me, and you eat at a mix of places, avoid the dining plan as it will force you to eat at places you don't want to eat at. If you do all quick service meals, the quick service dining plan is for you. If you eat at all sit down, full service restaurants, the deluxe dining plan is for you. To answer your other questions, I think basic park food is normally not great. It's mostly premade salads, wraps, thawed pizza's, french fries, smoothies, hot dogs, burgers, and things like that. They are quick to order, quick to eat, and great for saving you time. They aren't the healthiest of foods normally, and I'm not a huge fan of most of it, but some of it is just fine for what it is. I would suggest skipping the dining plan altogether. Make reservations for a few nice places like Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Ohana, Boma, Kona Cafe, or other places like that. Those are just a few of my favorites that are NOT on the quick service plan, but are excellent places to go. Then mix in some quick service lunches or dinners while you're in the parks and in time crunches. Or, bring your own food into the park. I sometimes bring sandwiches & chips in with me for lunch, to save on money. Good luck, and have fun!
