Sylvia's in harlem is great. And also Amy Ruth's. Amy's not so upscale but the food is GREAT!

You must try Birdies on 1st Avenue and 9th Street in the East Village. Delicious chicken (even the veggie chicken is worth a shot), authentic sides, yummy desserts. I usually go for the 3-piece fried chicken, fried okra and homemade lemonade.

I would suggest Yolanda's southern cuisine in New Rochelle. Nice ambiance, and really good food.
