Looking for a nice romantic place for a date in the New York Area.?

  • Does anyone know of any nice romantic place to take a date in the New York City Area. Budget isn't an issue but we usually aren't into the whole super formal get up areas. We love Jazz places, loved Fuerzabruta, "Ninja" restaurant we thought was really nice. We really enjoy places that have a unique quality to them. Even though we've seen many Broadway and off broadway shows, does anyone one have any personal favorites? I'm just looking for a nice place with a nice romantic COMFORTABLE vibe to it. Usually the classy places rush you in and out and really don't give you time to enjoy it all. I was thinking of checking out Blue Note Jazz club but i hear it's a little commercial. Any places similar to it that anyone knows about? We LOVE the Village Vanguard. Well thanks everyone in advance :) -We are in our Mid 20's

    Little Branch 20 7th Ave South (@ Leroy St) Probably one of my favorite cocktail bars, this place serves up some of the best drinks by the best bartenders in the city. It's an underground bar with pressed tin ceilings, candle lit with large leather booths. There is also a piano, and on some nights there is live jazz. Perfect place to sit and relax with a date, and let the expertly made cocktails and candlelight do all the work.

I would love to go on a romantic date to this restaurant called Cuba on Thompson between Bleecker and West 3rd. It's the cutest little place, amazing Cuban food, they have a little band that plays Spanish music quietly in the corner, and a guy who rolls cigars in another corner by the street window. It's adorable and cozy and sooo yummy.
