What's clubbing in NYC like?

Where do locals eat and go clubbing in NYC?

Hi, I live in CA and will be visiting NY for the first time over the thanks giving holiday this year. I am not going to see or visit family but Im meeting up with a good looking guy (who has also never been in NY) and besides typical touristy things to see, is there anything that you would recommend to do or see for 2 mid twenties individuals. Nothing really expensive but affordable. Where is good places to go eat at, hang out at and go clubbing at?? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance

You know New York is so massive everything has to be researched they have hundreds of cellar pubs with 4 star food for a fair price. I recommend the book "Zagat New York City 2011". It goes into sensational detail about restaurants. They cover all the different types of food too.
