Under what name did Domino's Pizza chain get its start?

Mom and Pop Pizza Places or Chain Pizza Places?

For me since i live in New York we have tons of Mom and Pop pizzerias and they have the best pizza and would definatly choose them by far over chain pizza places like dominos, pizza hut, papa johns etc., don't get me wrong chain pizza places do have some pretty good food but I would always prefer to get pizza from Mom and Pop pizzerias

I live in North Jersey right outside NYC, I cringed when I went to college and I found out people outside the tri-state area actually order mass-produced pizzas from chains. The idea of eating anything but a Mom and Pop pizza grosses me out.

To stay in business, the Mom and Pop Joints must offer excellent food or excellent prices. Otherwise people will go to the chain where they know what to expect.
