Can a business have a 714 area code in Los Angeles??please help me?

• hi, well lets see...today i made a stupid decision of saying on a job application that my last job, had relocated to L.A...ii know stupid right? bc the manager called me to give her the number...and the idiot me..well i called my supervisor and told her actually asked her if it was ok...and what i hate the most is that in this out of the many interviews that i have gone i had a great feeling i know the lady liked me, you know to work for her. but i dont know with the stupid choice...i dont have much job experience, i did work where i told her.but i quit bc of school.but i didnt want to say that, but i guess that would of been better.omg.now, my questions 1. do you think she will disqualify me bc of the lie i told her? 2. can a business have a 714 area code in L.A??please helpe me out here... thanks..and any other job hunting advice is surely appreciated!...thanks

  as far as the lying goes, i think it is up to you whether you say anything or not. just use your best judgement, because it is a reflection of your character in the end, so you should do what feels right to you. if you do tell, i would explain that you just really want this job and are excited about the prospect of working for them, so you thought you would up your chances by lying, but then your realized it was wrong, and you hope they will not judge you based on it. for the second question, i don't think the area code matters much, because someone could have thier business in la, but live in brea, and use their cell phone as thier business number. therefore, the area code would be 714 even though thier actual business address is in la. hope i helped out some! :) good luck with the job!
