Is Hetta and Hatta Village the same? Why?

Why do you have to wait to be seated at Village Inn but can sit whereever you want at Home Town Buffet?

  • Just using two examples of commonly known places. So at Village Inn Pancake house you have to wait to be seated while at Home Town Buffet you can sit wherever you want. I know that village Inn does have wait staff but home town buffet has staff that picks up your dirty plates.

  • Answer:

When you have a wait staff that has to get your food out on a timely basis, get salads, soups, drinks etc, they need their customers spaced out so that they aren't trying to get 16 drinks for 4 tables of 4 at the same time. When you go to Hometown Buffet you are simply having your plates removed, which can be done by anyone in the area, not simply the person assigned. Also in a place like Village Inn typically there are assigned areas for wait staff and there is one section that is coveted for sitting, perhaps one section has all booths, those would be full all the time and the waiter with all tables would lose out on tips.
