Where is a good place to have 28th Birthday Party in Houston for 30 people?
-
I am all out of ideas of where to spend or what to do for my 28th birthday. I am tired of the whole bar and club scene and am open for any unique ideas. Something indoors because knowing Houston weather it will either rain or be around 100 degrees or even both. There will be around 30 people attending.

Answer:
I was thinking Dave & Busters. It has good food and you can reserve private rooms if you like. You and your guest can aslo enjoy pool, games, and much more.

Try: Yao's on Westheimer at Gessner for a great Chinese menu at very moderate prices. They have private rooms and the bar available. Also, if you'd like to do an afternoon affair have it at Vino Bistro on Alabama. They have great wines and will put out some great appetizers. This is a pretty place and it has the living of someone's lovely living room. Also, how about a brunch. Rio Ranch has a great one. Call and ask about special group pricing. Also, the Daily Grind is nice. The location is close to the Heights. Spaghetti Warehouse is a fun place also. It's downtown. The Melting Pot, but we're talking big bucks here and the full dinner takes about 3 1/2 hours. Las Cascadas Mexican restaurant on Westheimer or Las Alamedas ($$$). Dave and Buster's also sounds like fun, but this also can add up pretty fast. How about the Greek restaurant Niko Niko? Or the fabulous Spanish Restaurant Riojas---you could serve some great Spanish wines and have them make up a couple of Paellas with some Tapas on the side. Have fun deciding!

Frenchie's on Nasa and El Camino is classy and fairly inexpensive. Mario's on 146 and Nasa is also really good and fairly priced. Happy birthday!!!

A great place for a party is Gravitas. They have the restaurant side, but they also offer a private room that will seat 40-50 people, if necessary. The room is private and is upstairs to avoid other folks wandering in. After the dinner portion is over, you and your guests can head to their bar downstairs, called Sidebar. They have a DJ on the weekends, and it has a nice lounge feel. There is also an outdoor patio.... IF the weather is nice. Gravitas 807 Taft St Houston, TX 77019 (713) 522-0995 http://www.gravitasrestaurant.com *I had my 30th birthday here and it was a big hit.

Lots of good answers above here. Wish I was hungry. I like Del Pueblo Mexican restaurant on Jones road at Grant road. If you call in advance, they will set you up even on Friday or Saturday nights. (They have a waiting line then.) They have 2 large sections that are used for groups when they have them. If you like great margaritas and fajitas at a reasonable price, this is a good choice. And they go out of their way to be customer friendly. They do not want you to visit just one time. They want you to become repeat customers and they work hard to get you hooked. I am a regular and there are people I see almost every time I go in.

Something unique? Try Chuck-E-Cheese! No one will expect that, you can play games, eat bad pizza, and you know that your friends and/or family will talk about it for years!

Call the Holiday Inns. The larger ones have huge domed areas with swimming pools, and Hot Tubs, and the bars/lounges are usually located near the facility, and you can have food catered. You can rent the place by the day, and do the pool party thing. It's a blast, and everyone has a good time. Until some moron gets wasted and barfs in the jacuzzi. It's waaaay too hot there in the summer to try a comfortable outdoor event. People melting all over the place. What a mess. Have a room or two reserved too. You don't need anyone killed driving home drunk. Also volunteer a couple of decent people to clean up your trash. It's the considerate thing to do. Plenty of waste bins around, and the management will be glad to supply garbage bags. Have fun, and Happy Birthday! Nad

Try Bella Tarraza. It is located on Chimney Rock between Westheimer and Richmond. It is a wonderful building with great food service. The owner is friendly, and the staff are very helpful. Love the food there. Great location - a few blocks away from Galleria.
