How do I make friends here in chicago?

  • I am going crazy here. I'm 24 and engaged. I rencently moved in with my fiance in Chicago 2 months ago. Before I was living in Boston where all my friends are :( He from chicago so he has all his friends here. ( well not that many that he actually hangout with). I feel so alone soemtime. I mean I hang out with him 24/7 but I want my own friends. This might sound childish but it is what it is. Our work schedule is so different; most of the time I would spend the whole day in our apt. til its time for work. The only places ive gone to really are the library and the Park. He is so sweet to always include me when they make plans, but its not the same. I miss grabbing a cup of coffee with my girlfriends or going shopping on saturdays, or going out dancing on a friday night etc. (regular girl stuff) . Does anyone have any ideas? I'm so lonely...and tired of hanging out with my fiance sometimes. I truly love him but sometimes i just want go hang out with the girls and he could just go play sport with his buddies.

    Try checking out the Chicago Sport & Social club for events. Maybe he could go with you to the first couple and you could meet new people there.

go add people online, then go to clubs or local shows, tons of people your age go to them up there. i have my half o f the family who lives up there and they always go out to eat and wind up meeting new people while sitting next to them haha.

Where in Chicago are you? You should start going to the clubs downtown or just myspace people in the chicago area and start talking :)
