I need some birthday suggestions.

30th Birthday in Chicago, need suggestions?

  • Here's the situation. I just got my friends 30th birthday dropped in my lap. It's June 21st. We're going to have a group at least 12 people large and I really could use some suggestions on something to do, possibly in Chicago since we're so close to there, something fun & not too pricey - preferably under $25 a person. I'm considering stuff like Dave & Busters, but I just really want something different and just plain fun. This needs to be a great birthday for him. Also, he & the majority of the group are of the gay persuasion, so if anyone knows of anything cool in Boys Town besides the clubs. Thanks for the help!

I would think that Navy Pier would be a good bet, and plus you do have 20 days left to come up with a place. And you might find some restuarants on Navy Pier, maybe more like the food court where it will be less then 25 dollars, but that would pretty much knock out most of the restaurants in Chicago. And even if you have to spend more then 25 dollars, your friendship should be more important then money. I am not to familar with Dave & Busters, and I have checked out thier website, and that might be a good bet, but I don't see what thier prices for the food they have, other then the Eat & Play Combo, and that would be $15.99. And you can plan the event at http://www.daveandbusters.com/plan/default.aspx , and contact them, and a planner will help you plan the event. Or you fill out the form on the page, and you have to put down the date, and a planner will contact you. And you have to give your day, and the time you want to hold it. Or you can find out who it will be there as well, but good luck with your friends' 30th birthday planning. And plus you only turn 30 once, so you might as well have some fun.

I go to Chicago to visit my uncle every year. I'd say ESPN Zone but since he's gay no. Try Giradono's Pizza. We have to go there every time we're around. We're from western Illinois so we always take the train up. We get two to go and always eat a small on the way down. Not to quick though, so go before most people will run in and try they're apitizers they're great.

Try the Kit Kat Club on the North Side. I think it is on Halsted but it is in "boys town". From what I have seen on the show Check Please, it is a hip place where the staff are cross dressers and there's like a 60's theme to it. They offer all kinds of drinks, food, desserts and live entertainment. Or try LaCreperie on North Clark. They have the best crepes around, and have been at that location for decades.
