Is the Chicago Botanical Garden open on Thanksgiving?

Will be in the Chicago/Forest Park area during Thanksgiving, do places deliver dinners?

  • I will be in the Chicago/Forest Park area for Thanksgiving. Are there any places that will deliver Thanksgiving dinners to me or are there any places that will allow me to pick up a Thanksgiving meal if I order in advance? Thank you.

    I just happen to have an ad that I was looking at from the Sunday Paper. Jewel has several holiday meals. The "Ultimate Turkey Dinner" for $69.99 Includes: Fully cooked butterball turkey green bean casserole gravy mashed potatoes savory or corn bread stuffing sweet potatoes cranberry sauce choice of two types of rolls pumpkin pie. There is also a turkey dinner for $42.99 A Ham dinner for $42.99 and Prime Rib diner for $64.99 I am sure there are other markets that will do the same thing. Check Dominick's, Meijer,Whole Foods. You could even call a favorite restaurant and find out if they are doing a "family style" meal where you can either eat there and take home leftovers, (advantage..no dishes) or if they will pack it for pick up or delivery.

The Jewel idea above is a good idea. I know of no place that will deliver There used to be 3 or 4 restaurants in the area you mention that would have prepared a dinner as you ask. Now, I'm not sure. I would start at Barclay's American Grille on Pleasant St in the Carleton Hotel.. That location had a great Thanksgiving feast.
