Where can my family Host a nice Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner at in Chicago?

• Hello I am looking for some ideas on restaurants, buffets, etc. Where my family and I can have a Thanksgiving Dinner. Since our family is so large we all usually get together a weekend or 2 before Thanksgiving and celebrate together because we know the Day of Thanksgiving a lot of family have to visit their in-laws, parents, etc. We are trying to see what would be a good place this year, last year we did a Chinese Buffet. I am looking for mature, answers only.. Also, it can be something outside of the box because we do have children to that can be entertained . We are in the Chicagoland area. Any ideas, resources are greatly appreciated..

  Maggiano's is a great option. Since you are not opposed to buffets though you may want to check out Golden Corral or Old Country Buffet or Sweet Tomatoes. All are open for breakfast on weekends. Golden Corral and Old Country both have rooms that can be reserved for large groups. Sweet Tomatoes does not have a private room but your family could take over a section of the restaurant. All you have to do is call in advance and let them know you have a large group. You can check the Sweet Tomato menu on line. They change the menu pretty often but the basic items would be the same week to week. Any of the Buffets would run around $10.00 per person for adults. That includes drinks. (Stupid thing.. Sweet Tomatoes now gives a choice of a large drink or a small one...you can refill at any time so why anyone would order a large is beyond me) Advantage with Golden Corral or Old Country since the room can be closed off you could bring games for the kids to keep them entertained and in one area while adults can sit and talk.
