How do I burn a movie that will work in my dvd player?

Can I burn a movie on a normal cd and make it work in a dvd player?

  • I want to watch a movie real bad right now :)

  • Answer:

You can burn a movie onto a CD in what is called VCD format and most DVD players will play the movie. However - CDs only hold up to 700-800 Mega Bytes. This is way too small for full length movie. So you may have to burn it in 2 parts on 2 CDs. DVDs hold much more data (4 gigabytes) and therefore are better suited for burning full length movies. Your computer's CD burning software probably has a way for you to select the VCD option before you burn. If not, you just have to go out and buy the software that gives you the option.

Yes!, but if you need to burn a 2 hour movie, I recommend using a DVD. a "regular" disc has only 80 minutes (1 hour, 20 min.). It also only has 700 MB.For your information, it is called a CD-RW (also known as a compact disc rewritable) it would take 2 disks if you want a 2 hour movie
