How can I plug a 4-contact 3.5mm connector into two 3-contact 3.5mm connectors?

I have a headset for my phone. It has a 3.5mm (NOT 2.5) connector with 4 contacts on it. I want to use it with my computer, which has only 3.5mm jacks with 3 contacts. I would like an adapter that splits the connector on my headset into a 3-contacts stereo headphone connector and a 3-contact microphone connector, so I can use the same headset with my smartphone and my PC. I would also settle for the opposite: An adapter that takes two 3-contact connectors and lets me plug them into a single 4-contact jack. I have googled extensively and found nothing, and have found many 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapters that do what I want, but I don't have a 2.5mm headset. I don't need someone to tell me that I do have a 2.5mm headset, even though I think I don't. I know what I'm talking about. I don't have a 2.5mm "phone headset." I have a 3.5mm headset with a 4-contact connector. It came with my Blackberry Storm and I use it with my Motorola DROID.
