What is the "other" space on my ipod touch?

What is taking up so much space on my iPod Touch?

• I can't download a movie because I supposedly don't have enough space on my iPod. I didn't get why this is happening because I only have 200 photos, nine apps, and 86 songs. I hooked up my iPod to iTunes, and it says that I have 0.74 GB of audio, 0.02 GB of photos, 0.42 GB of apps, and then for other I have 3.2 GB!! It says I only have 2.3 GB of free space! I have NOTHING on my iPod that takes that much space! I barely have anything on my iPod! How do I find out what is taking up so much space? I've tried deleting all these things, yet iTunes still says that I have 3.2 GB of Other. I'm stumped...

  This happened to me not too long ago. Have you updated your ipod to iOS5? If you did, update it again using the new update (5.0.1 I think) and it should be able to clear it up for you. If that doesn't work, try restarting your ipod. That's what I have to do and it worked out for me. It was something with the new Apple iOS5 update that caused data overflow. Hope this works!
