What is the best Blu Ray player to buy?

PS3 or Blu Ray DVD player? If PS3 can play Blu Ray DVD,what the reason to buy B.Ray player.?

  • There is so much more you can do on a ps3, I don't see the point to buy a B ray dvd player. Also can Ps3 play cd/dvd/vcd from other country..Want to know before I buy.

    there is no particular reason to buy blu-ray players except they might have higher definition, but they are about £500+ while the ps3 is about £300.

Dedicated Blu Ray players have a higher quality than PS3.

The aesthetics of a dedicated player might appeal more for some and as Blu-ray becomes more widespread there is bound to be more functionality on dedicated players but at the moment, the PS3 is an excellent way to get into HD movies cost-wise. There are still multiple regions for Blu-ray but not as complex as with DVDs. REGION A: North America, Central America, South America, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia REGION B: Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand REGION C: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mainland China, Pakistan, Russia, Central and South Asia I don't know of any modifications to make support multiple region as of yet.
