Can I use universal remote on an old analogue tv?

Does anyone know when normal tv goes offically digital and won't be able to use analogue aerials anymore?

I was wondering as well.... i will be stuffed as i only get four channels where i live, cant get no signal for digital box and dont wanna spend loads of money on sky. ;-(

walmart superstoretv/video section expert said by the beginning of 2008 Hi def tv would be a must and all those who don't have it will have to use an adapter to make their analog tvs work.
