How can i connect my computer and dvd player together?

Can i connect computer speakers to dvd player?

  • i wanna buy dvd player and can i connect genius speakers to it? thanks

  • Answer:

You will need an 1/8" stereo jack to stereo rca plugs cable that is long enough to reach from the audio L/R outputs on the dvd player to the 1/8" stereo plug on the speakers.

Depends if the DVD player has the dock(i don't know if that's what its called) to fit the speaker.

IF... the speakers are part of an amplification system, meaning you need power to operate them, then yes, you can connect them to a DVD player. Speakers, alone, will not work. That's because the DVD player is only a deck, no amplifier inside, and the audio is Line Level. Not enough to drive the speakers. If you do hookup amplified (powered) speakers to your DVD player, and also send the video to a monitor or TV, there may be a slight delay between, say, lip movement and words spoken. Not radical, just barely noticeable, like an old Bruce Lee movie. That's because TVs are designed so that audio and video process through all the circuitry at a controlled rate to combine at the same time. By using a separate audio system, it's operating independently of the TV and delay times may be slightly different.

If it is a standard DVD player that has RED/WHITE RCA output jacks, you will need this adapter cable: http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=2009&sku=40424&iorb=4764&cm_mmc_o=PwYBEp%20qRGCjCQmmVCjCW-CjC-kk
