Should I BUY a sound system for my garden wedding?

Or rent.... I'm getting married at my parents' house and they live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere so there really isn't a place to rent something, nearest large town is 2 hours away. How much would it cost to have a good system for 150-200 people and a pretty small yard? I would want to buy on craigslist or ebay and then turn around and resell. Would that make sense? And what would I look for?

It's really hard to buy a decent sound system and then turn around and sell it for a good price. You're best option is to find a rental company or talk to a DJ. If you can find a place to rent a sound system in that town 2 hours away, it shouldn't be a problem. Usually they'll rent it to you for the weekend, and if you have a guest coming from or through there, you can arrange for them to pick it up and drop it off.
