Does the regular mic on a cell phone work while hooked to a bluetooth headset?
-
I was wondering if the standard mic on a cell phone is turned off while it is hooked up to a bluetooth headset..if so.. do they have a way to communicate bluetooth to bluetooth..without using cellphone satelites....ya know. more like walkie talkies..cept streaming 2 way audio..

Answer:
Oh boy...no, not as such. When a blue tooth device is active on a cell phone it grabs the "audio in" bus, so the internal mic is not connected, the same goes for the (audio out bus) speakers. Since the average range of a blue tooth device is only about 30 ft, b/t to b/t would not be practical. However, 2 b/t equipped cell phones are only limited by the phones ranges and doesn't make any difference if one or both use b/t.
